The Mission Road

July 2, 2026

Bishop Scott Seely of the Anglican Diocese of All Nations shares a theological and practical teaching on missional church planting, drawing from the book of Acts and lessons learned along the Mission Road.

He explores the Macedonian call in Acts 16 and Paul’s ministry in Ephesus in Acts 19 to examine the difference between pioneering new ministries and reproducing healthy, established ones. He also introduces the “Five S’s” of church planting: the Spirit, the sower, the seed, the soil, and the sacrament of the kingdom.

Throughout the teaching, Bishop Seely shares practical lessons for church planters, including the importance of prayer, developing a balanced ministry strategy beyond Sunday services, building a strong digital presence, and prioritizing personal and family well-being.

He also presents the “Isaiah Vision,” encouraging parishes to partner with existing Christian organizations serving their communities, particularly in areas such as care for the elderly and support for families.

The teaching concludes with a challenge for archdeaconries to think beyond individual parish planting and instead develop collaborative regional hubs that can strengthen mission, support clergy, and help churches grow together.
